Clinical Overview
Rabeprazole Sodium (20mg enteric-coated) and Domperidone (10mg/30mg sustained-release) is a rapid-onset PPI and prokinetic combination. Rabeprazole has a higher pKa (~5.0) than other PPIs, allowing faster activation at higher pH and achieving rapid, potent inhibition of gastric H+/K+-ATPase pumps from the first dose. Domperidone provides dopamine D2 antagonism to enhance lower esophageal sphincter tone and accelerate gastric emptying. Indicated for erosive esophagitis, GERD, hypersecretory conditions, and dyspeptic symptom complexes (nausea, postprandial fullness, acid regurgitation).

Usage Guidelines
Take orally once daily in the morning, 30 minutes before breakfast with water. Swallow the capsule whole; do not chew or crush the beads inside. Duration is typically 4 to 8 weeks.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Headache, dry mouth, diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain, benign fundic gland polyps (long term). Rare/Severe: Hyperprolactinemia (galactorrhea, amenorrhea), ventricular arrhythmias/QTc prolongation (domperidone), hypomagnesemia, and C. difficile-associated colitis.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
Precautions & Warnings
Contraindicated in patients with prolonged cardiac QT intervals, severe hepatic failure, GI perforation, or prolactinoma. Exercise caution in elderly patients (>60 years) taking domperidone doses exceeding 30mg daily due to increased risk of ventricular arrhythmia.
