⚕️ STATUTORY NOTICE: NOT MEDICAL ADVICE

The information contained on Janaushdhi is published solely for educational, informational, and price transparency purposes. It is not intended to substitute for clinical diagnosis, medical advice, or physician-directed prescription regimens. Never start, modify dosage, substitute, or discontinue any prescription medication or chronic treatment without consulting a licensed physician or specialist.

1. Generic Mappings are Informational References

While we make every effort to maintain accurate data from official PMBI (Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India) publications, generic drug mappings (connecting chemical salts to commercial brand names) are compiled as public consumer reference guides. They do not constitute official clinical bioequivalence endorsements. Minor variations in inactive excipients, extended-release matrices, and delivery mechanisms may exist between manufacturers. Always discuss generic substitution with your treating doctor or qualified pharmacist.

2. Prescription Schedules (Schedule H, H1 & X)

A substantial portion of medicines in our catalog—including cardiovascular agents, anti-diabetics, systemic antibiotics, anti-hypertensives, psychotropics, oncology therapeutics, and high-potency topical corticosteroids—are classified under Schedule H or Schedule H1 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules:

  • Prescription Requirement: These medications can only be dispensed by a registered pharmacist upon presentation of a valid prescription written by a Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP).
  • Chronic Diseases: Abruptly stopping or altering dosages of cardiovascular, hypertension, or anti-diabetic medications can precipitate life-threatening complications.
  • Antibiotic Stewardship: Inappropriate or incomplete use of antimicrobial agents causes antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Never take antibiotics without clear clinical diagnosis.
  • Corticosteroids: Unsupervised or prolonged use of potent topical corticosteroids can cause permanent dermal atrophy, telangiectasia, and systemic endocrine suppression.

3. Independent Directory & Non-Dispensing Statement

Janaushdhi is an independent, community-driven generic medicine directory and price comparison tool. We do not sell, stock, dispense, or ship any pharmaceutical products, prescription drugs, or medical devices. All purchases must be made in person at authorized Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras or licensed pharmacies.

4. No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Using Janaushdhi—including searching active ingredients, browsing therapeutic categories, comparing estimated commercial brand savings, or using the Kendra store finder—does not establish a doctor-patient, pharmacist-patient, or clinical fiduciary relationship of any kind. In the event of a medical emergency, acute symptoms, or adverse drug reaction, contact emergency services or visit the nearest hospital emergency department immediately.
