Clinical Overview
Magaldrate (400mg/540mg) and Simethicone (20mg/50mg, with or without Oxetacaine 10mg) Oral Suspension is a balanced antacid, antiflatulent, and mucosal anesthetic formulation. Magaldrate (hydroxymagnesium aluminate complex) reacts rapidly with gastric acid to buffer intragastric pH to the ideal 3.0-5.0 range, neutralizing acid without causing acid rebound. Simethicone breaks mucosal gas bubbles to relieve bloating. Oxetacaine (when present) provides prompt topical anesthesia on inflamed gastric and esophageal mucosa. Indicated for hyperacidity, heartburn, reflux esophagitis, gastritis, and peptic ulcer pain with flatulence.

Common: Chalky taste, mild diarrhea or constipation (balanced by magnesium and aluminum components), nausea. Rare/Severe: Hypermagnesemia and aluminum toxicity in patients with severe renal failure.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
