Clinical Overview
Chlordiazepoxide (5mg) and Clidinium Bromide (2.5mg, with or without Dicyclomine 10mg) Tablets is a fixed-dose anxiolytic and anticholinergic combination. Clidinium bromide acts as a synthetic quaternary anticholinergic agent, reducing gastric acid secretion and inhibiting hypermotility and spasm of the gastrointestinal tract. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine that modulates GABA-A receptors in the CNS to alleviate emotional tension and visceral hypersensitivity. Indicated for irritable bowel syndrome (spastic colon, mucous colitis) and adjunctive therapy in peptic ulcer disease.
