Usage Guidelines
On-demand ED: Take 10 mg to 20 mg orally at least 30 to 60 minutes before sexual intercourse; food does not affect absorption. Daily BPH/ED: Take 5 mg orally once daily at approximately the same time each day with water. Orally disintegrating strips: Place on tongue and dissolve.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Headache, dyspepsia, back pain, myalgia, nasal congestion, flushing. Rare/Severe: Non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), sudden hearing loss, severe hypotension, and priapism.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
Precautions & Warnings
Strictly contraindicated with all nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide) and riociguat due to catastrophic hypotension. Long half-life means interaction risk with nitrates persists for up to 48 hours after last dose. Safe from PDE6-mediated visual blue tinge seen with sildenafil.
