Clinical Overview
Telmisartan, Amlodipine, and Hydrochlorothiazide is a triple-action fixed-dose antihypertensive combination uniting three complementary hemodynamic mechanisms: an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB), and a thiazide diuretic. Telmisartan blocks AT1 receptors and activates PPAR-gamma; amlodipine relaxes peripheral arterial smooth muscle; and hydrochlorothiazide promotes natriuresis, eliminating excess intravascular volume. Indicated for moderate-to-severe essential hypertension in patients not adequately controlled on dual-therapy regimens.
