ODT/Strip: Place the tablet or strip on the tongue with dry hands; allow it to dissolve completely in saliva within seconds and swallow. No water is needed. Oral solution: Measure with a graduated oral syringe. Take 30 minutes before chemotherapy or radiation, or at the onset of gastroenteritis nausea.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Headache, constipation, sensation of warmth or flushing, fatigue, transient lightheadedness. Rare/Severe: QTc prolongation, extrapyramidal symptoms (rare), and severe allergic reactions.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
Precautions & Warnings
Do not swallow ODT tablets or strips whole with water; allow rapid salivary dissolution. Maximum daily dose should not exceed 8 mg in severe hepatic impairment.
