Clinical Overview
Artesunate, Sulfadoxine, and Pyrimethamine Combi Kit is a WHO-endorsed Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT). Artesunate acts rapidly to clear the bulk of malaria parasites by releasing reactive carbon-centered free radicals, while sulfadoxine (dihydropteroate synthase inhibitor) and pyrimethamine (dihydrofolate reductase inhibitor) provide synergistic long-acting anti-folate elimination of residual parasites. Indicated for the treatment of acute uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria.
