Clinical Overview
Allylestrenol Tablets 5 mg is a synthetic oral progestogen derivative of 19-nortestosterone designed specifically for obstetric support. It stimulates placental trophoblast activity, enhances endogenous placental progesterone and human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) synthesis, normalizes oxytocinase levels, and suppresses myometrial hypercontractility without exerting androgenic or estrogenic virilizing effects on the female fetus. Indicated for threatened miscarriage, habitual abortion, threatened preterm labor, and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) due to placental insufficiency.
