🧴 Clinical Application

Take orally with water, with or without food: For threatened abortion: 5 mg three times daily for 5 to 7 days until bleeding ceases, then gradually tapered. For habitual abortion: 5 to 10 mg daily starting as soon as pregnancy is confirmed and continued for at least one month past the critical period of previous miscarriages. For threatened preterm labor: dose titrated up to 10 mg three times daily as guided by obstetrician.

⚠️ Side Effects

Common: Mild gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, headache, dizziness, and mild fluid retention. Rare/Severe: Liver enzyme elevations, hypersensitivity rash, and thromboembolic tendencies.

🛡️ Safety Warnings

Contraindicated in undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, active thromboembolic disease, missed abortion, and severe hepatic dysfunction. Periodic ultrasound assessments to confirm fetal viability are recommended.
