Clinical Overview
Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Tablets IP 10 mg is a synthetic derivative of 17-alpha-hydroxyprogesterone on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. It binds to progesterone receptors to transform proliferative endometrium into secretory tissue, reduces endometrial hyperplasia in estrogen replacement regimens, and inhibits gonadotropin production. Indicated for secondary amenorrhea, abnormal uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance without organic pathology, endometriosis, and endometrial protection during menopausal estrogen therapy.
