Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride is a potent second-generation fluoroquinolone bactericidal antibiotic. It acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, preventing bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. Possesses exceptional activity against aerobic Gram-negative bacilli, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella, Shigella, and Escherichia coli. Indicated for complicated urinary tract infections, pyelonephritis, infectious diarrhea/typhoid, chronic bacterial prostatitis, and bone/joint infections.
