Clonazepam and Escitalopram is a premier neuropsychiatric fixed-dose combination. Escitalopram, a high-affinity SSRI, selectively inhibits presynaptic serotonin reuptake to treat core depression and panic circuitry over time, while clonazepam, a long-acting benzodiazepine, delivers immediate allosteric enhancement of GABAA receptors, dampening initial SSRI-induced jitteriness, insomnia, and acute anxiety. Indicated for major depressive disorder with comorbid anxiety, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder.

Usage Guidelines
Take orally once daily, preferably in the evening or at bedtime with water, with or without food. Mouth-dissolving forms can be placed on the tongue and swallowed without water. Do not stop abruptly; taper slowly to avoid rebound panic and withdrawal seizures.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Somnolence, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, insomnia, sexual dysfunction, diaphoresis. Rare/Severe: Suicidal thoughts in young adults, serotonin syndrome, severe physical dependence, respiratory depression, and hyponatremia.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
Precautions & Warnings
Boxed warning for antidepressant suicidality and benzodiazepine dependence. Contraindicated with MAO inhibitors, linezolid, or pimozide. Concomitant alcohol use severely potentiates CNS depression.

Clonazepam is a long-acting benzodiazepine with potent anticonvulsant, muscle-relaxant, and anxiolytic actions on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. It allosterically modulates GABAA receptors, increasing frequency of chloride channel opening and dampening epileptic foci in the cortex and limbic system. Indicated for panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, myoclonic and akinetic seizures, and absence seizures refractory to succinimides.

Escitalopram is the therapeutically active S-enantiomer of citalopram and the most selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) available. It binds allosterically to the primary site of the human serotonin transporter (SERT), potently inhibiting serotonin reuptake into presynaptic terminals without appreciable affinity for dopamine or norepinephrine transporters or cholinergic/histaminergic receptors. Indicated for major depressive disorder (MDD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
