Clinical Overview
Omeprazole (20mg) with Sodium Bicarbonate Powder for Oral Suspension is an immediate-release proton pump inhibitor formulation. Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes gastric acid instantly, elevating intragastric pH and protecting unprotected omeprazole from acid degradation during transit to the duodenum, allowing rapid absorption without enteric coating. Indicated for acute heartburn relief, active duodenal/gastric ulcers, GERD, and prevention of upper GI bleeding in critically ill patients.
