Clinical Overview
Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate Injection IP (250mg, 500mg) is a long-acting synthetic esterified progestogen formulated in an oily depot solution. It binds to uterine progesterone receptors, producing prolonged quietening of the myometrium, inhibiting cervical shortening, and suppressing inflammatory cytokine-mediated uterine contractility. Indicated for the prevention of recurrent preterm birth in pregnant women with a singleton pregnancy and a documented history of spontaneous preterm singleton delivery, habitual/threatened miscarriage, and uterine bleeding disorders.
