Clinical Overview
Levosalbutamol (50mcg/100mcg) and Beclomethasone Dipropionate (50mcg/100mcg/200mcg Inhaler, Rotacaps) combines the active (R)-enantiomer of salbutamol with a synthetic glucocorticoid. Levosalbutamol provides rapid-acting selective beta-2 bronchodilation without the adverse tachycardia, tremor, and pro-inflammatory effects associated with the inert (S)-isomer. Beclomethasone suppresses underlying eosinophilic airway inflammation and edema. Indicated for maintenance and symptomatic treatment of mild-to-moderate bronchial asthma.
