Usage Guidelines
Take orally with food or milk (or any high-fat meal), which enhances lumefantrine absorption sixteen-fold. Standard regimen comprises a 6-dose course over 3 days (at 0h, 8h, 24h, 36h, 48h, and 60h). If vomiting occurs within 1 hour of a dose, repeat the full dose immediately.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Headache, dizziness, anorexia, nausea, abdominal discomfort, cough, arthralgia. Rare/Severe: QT interval prolongation, severe hypersensitivity reactions, and angioedema.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
Precautions & Warnings
Take strictly with fatty meals for clinical efficacy. Caution in patients with congenital QT prolongation, cardiac arrhythmias, or taking other QT-prolonging agents. Not indicated for severe/cerebral malaria or prophylaxis.
