Clinical Overview
Vecuronium Bromide is an intermediate-acting monoquaternary aminosteroid non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. It competitively blocks acetylcholine at motor endplate nicotinic receptors. Unlike atracurium or tubocurarine, it does not induce histamine release or autonomic ganglion blockade, conferring exceptional cardiovascular stability without tachycardia or hypotension. Indicated for skeletal muscle relaxation during surgical procedures and mechanical ventilation.
