🧴 Clinical Application

Common: Somnolence, dizziness, nausea, headache, dry mouth, akathisia. Rare/Severe: Boxed warning: Mortality in dementia patients; dose-dependent QT prolongation, torsades de pointes, DRESS syndrome, and neuroleptic malignant syndrome.

Boxed warning for dementia psychosis mortality. Contraindicated in patients with history of QT prolongation, recent acute myocardial infarction, uncompensated heart failure, or concurrent QT-prolonging antiarrhythmics. Must take with food (>=500 kcal).
