🧴 Clinical Application

Take orally 1 to 2 mg once daily with water at the same time each day, continuously or sequentially as directed by the gynecologist. In women with an intact uterus, sequential or continuous-combined progestogen therapy is mandatory. For IVF endometrial preparation: taken as escalating or fixed daily doses as specified by ART protocol until adequate endometrial stripe thickness (>=8mm) is verified on transvaginal ultrasound.

⚠️ Side Effects

Common: Breast tenderness, nausea, headache, fluid retention, mood changes, and breakthrough bleeding. Rare/Severe: Thromboembolism (DVT, PE, retinal thrombosis), endometrial hyperplasia/carcinoma (without progestogen), ischemic stroke, and cholestatic jaundice.

🛡️ Safety Warnings

Black Box Warning: Cardiovascular disorders, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and dementia risks with long-term HRT. Contraindicated in active or past thromboembolism, ischemic heart disease, active liver disease, porphyria, and suspected hormone-sensitive neoplasms. Regular mammography and gynecological evaluation mandatory.
