🧴 Clinical Application

Take orally with a full glass of water while sitting or standing upright. Do not lie down for at least 30 to 45 minutes after taking capsules to prevent severe esophageal ulceration. Take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Complete the entire course.

It acts by reversibly binding to the 30S bacterial ribosomal subunit, preventing the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the ribosomal acceptor site and halting protein synthesis. Possesses anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases. Indicated for rickettsial infections (scrub typhus, Rocky Mountain spotted fever), chlamydial infections, acne vulgaris, malaria prophylaxis, respiratory tract infections (atypical pneumonia), and Lyme disease.
