🧴 Clinical Application

Take orally 1 tablet daily at the same hour each day for 21 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day tablet-free interval. Restart next cycle on the 8th day without interruption. If a pill is missed: take it as soon as remembered and consult packaging rules (use backup barrier contraception for 7 days if missed by >12 hours).

⚠️ Side Effects

Common: Nausea, breakthrough bleeding/spotting, headache, breast tension, mood changes, and fluid retention. Rare/Severe: Venous thromboembolism (DVT, PE), stroke, myocardial infarction, hypertension, and cholelithiasis.

🛡️ Safety Warnings

Black Box Warning: Cigarette smoking significantly increases the risk of serious cardiovascular events from oral contraceptive use; strongly contraindicated in women over 35 who smoke. Contraindicated in thrombophlebitis, thromboembolic disorders, estrogen-dependent neoplasms, undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, and active hepatic disease.
