Usage Guidelines
For clinical use by trained healthcare professionals under strict asepsis. Apply tourniquet, select suitable vein, and disinfect skin with 70% alcohol or chlorhexidine for 30 seconds; let air dry. Perform venipuncture at a 15-30 degree angle until blood flashback appears in chamber. Lower angle, advance catheter over needle into vein, release tourniquet, retract needle, and attach sterile IV line or cap. Secure with sterile transparent occlusive dressing.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Mild localized pain, hematoma. Rare/Severe: Thrombophlebitis, catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI), extravasation necrosis, and catheter embolism.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
Precautions & Warnings
Single-use sterile vascular device; NEVER re-insert the needle into the catheter (cuts catheter tube, causing fatal catheter embolism). Inspect insertion site daily for erythema, pain, or swelling (phlebitis); rotate peripheral access site every 72 to 96 hours. Dispose of sharp needle in rigid container.
