Clinical Overview
Bromfenac Sodium (0.09% w/v eye drops) is a potent brominated ophthalmic NSAID. Bromination confers high lipophilicity, allowing rapid corneal penetration and prolonged inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in iris, ciliary body, and retina, providing sustained 24-hour relief of ocular pain and inflammation with once- or twice-daily dosing. Indicated for post-operative ocular inflammation and pain following cataract surgery.
