Clinical Overview

Polyamide (3/8 Conventional Cutting Needle 16mm Length 70 cm) + 3/0 is a sterile monofilament non-absorbable surgical suture composed of long-chain aliphatic polymers Nylon 6 or Nylon 6,6 on the PMBI Formulary. Monofilament polyamide exhibits a mirror-smooth surface with minimal tissue drag, extremely low tissue reactivity, high initial tensile strength, and excellent elasticity. Indicated for cuticular and subcuticular skin closure, plastic and reconstructive surgery, ophthalmic microsurgery, and microsurgical neurovascular repairs.

Medical Device / Consumable: This product is an official PMBI surgical consumable, diagnostic, or medical device. It does not contain chemical active pharmaceutical substances.

Usage Guidelines

For surgical and minor procedure use by trained medical personnel. Remove sterile suture using needle holder placed at the junction of the proximal and middle third of the needle. Due to memory effect and stiffness, place extra throws on surgical knots (at least 4 to 5 throws) to prevent knot slippage. Remove cutaneous sutures after 5 to 14 days depending on anatomical location.

General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.

Possible Side Effects

Extremely minimal tissue reaction. Rare: Localized knot extrusion, transient erythema, or stitch mark formation if skin sutures are retained too long.

*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.

Precautions & Warnings

Single-use sterile surgical consumable. Do NOT re-sterilize. Knot security requires multiple throws due to monofilament memory. Dispose of needle safely in puncture-proof sharps receptacle.
