Clinical Overview
Chromic Suture (1/2 Cir Rb Needle 45mm + Length 100 cm) is a sterile absorbable surgical suture composed of purified connective tissue (mostly collagen) derived from the serosal layer of bovine intestines, treated with chromium salt solution to delay enzymatic degradation on the PMBI Formulary. Chromium treatment retards tissue proteolysis, extending tensile strength retention for 14 to 21 days with absorption typically complete within 90 days. Indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, episiotomy repair, gynecological surgery, gastrointestinal anastomosis, and ophthalmic procedures.
Medical Device / Consumable: This product is an official PMBI surgical consumable, diagnostic, or medical device. It does not contain chemical active pharmaceutical substances.

Usage Guidelines
For hospital and operating room surgical use by qualified healthcare practitioners. Use immediately after opening the sterile foil packet to prevent drying of conditioning solution. Tie knots carefully with adequate throws. Do not drag across rough surfaces. Single-use only.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Localized mild inflammatory tissue reaction (absorption occurs via cellular enzymatic digestion). Rare: Suture granuloma, premature loss of tensile strength in infected or acid-peptic environments, and stitch sinus.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
Precautions & Warnings
Absorbable suture; not suitable where extended wound support is required (cardiovascular or neurological tissues). Absorption is accelerated in tissues with high proteolytic enzyme levels (stomach, cervix) or active infection. Do NOT re-sterilize. Discard unused open strands.
