Usage Guidelines
For pediatric clinical and neonatal intensive care use. Measure depth from bridge of nose to earlobe to midway between xiphoid and umbilicus. Lubricate tip with sterile water or breast milk. Gently insert through nose or mouth. Verify gastric placement by aspirating stomach contents and checking acidic pH on litmus paper before every feed. Secure to cheek with skin-friendly tape.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Minor nasal irritation, sneezing. Rare: Bradycardia (vagal reflex during insertion) and accidental bronchial placement.
