Usage Guidelines
For hospital and nursing clinical use. Connect suction catheter to central or portable vacuum source using clean technique. Insert catheter gently into airway without applying suction until resistance is met. Apply intermittent suction by occluding the thumb-control valve with gloved thumb while gently rotating and withdrawing the catheter over 10 to 15 seconds. Pre-oxygenate patient with 100% O2 prior to deep suctioning.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Transient coughing, mild mucosal irritation. Rare/Severe: Hypoxemia, vagal bradycardia, tracheobronchial mucosal trauma / bleeding, and atelectasis.
*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.
