Terbinafine Hydrochloride topical formulation is a fungicidal allylamine antifungal. It inhibits squalene epoxidase in fungal cell membranes, causing rapid fungal cell death. Highly effective against dermatophytes (Trichophyton rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum). Indicated for tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), and tinea corporis (ringworm).

Usage Guidelines
Clean and thoroughly dry the affected skin area. Apply a thin layer of cream/gel once or twice daily, extending 1-2 inches beyond the active margin of the lesion. Wash hands thoroughly after application. Continue for the full prescribed duration (usually 1-2 weeks) even if symptoms resolve earlier.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Local burning, stinging, erythema, dryness, pruritus. Rare/Severe: Allergic contact dermatitis and severe localized irritation.

Precautions & Warnings

Itraconazole is a synthetic triazole broad-spectrum antifungal on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. It inhibits fungal cytochrome P450 14-alpha-demethylase (CYP51), blocking conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol and destabilizing the fungal cell membrane. Features high lipophilicity and keratin affinity, persisting in nails for months after completion. Indicated for onychomycosis, dermatophytosis refractory to topical therapy, pityriasis versicolor, systemic aspergillosis, histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, and candidiasis.

Terbinafine Hydrochloride is an oral synthetic allylamine broad-spectrum fungicidal agent on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. It non-competitively inhibits squalene epoxidase, an essential early enzyme in fungal ergosterol biosynthesis. This induces intracellular accumulation of toxic squalene and depletion of ergosterol, causing fungal cell membrane lysis. Highly lipophilic and keratophilic, accumulating in stratum corneum, hair follicles, and nails. Indicated for tinea unguium (onychomycosis of toenails/fingernails), extensive tinea corporis/cruris, and severe tinea pedis.
