Clinical Overview

Ceruminolytic Ear Drop formulation combining Paradichlorobenzene (2%), Chlorbutol (5%), Turpentine Oil (15%), and Lidocaine (2%). Paradichlorobenzene hydrates and dissolves hard impacted cerumen; turpentine oil acts as a counter-irritant and cerumen liquefier; chlorbutol provides mild antibacterial and antifungal preservation; and lidocaine relieves localized ear canal pain and tension. Indicated for softening, loosening, and removal of hardened, impacted ear wax.

Usage Guidelines

Tilt head sideways and instill 4 to 5 drops into the affected ear canal. Retain drops for 5 to 10 minutes using a small cotton ball plugged gently at the ear meatus. Repeat twice daily for 2 to 3 days prior to ear irrigation or syringing by a physician.

General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.

Possible Side Effects

Common: Local transient tingling, mild warmth, ear fullness. Rare/Severe: Ear canal irritation and allergic contact dermatitis.

*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.

Precautions & Warnings

Contraindicated in perforated tympanic membrane, acute otitis media, or active ear drainage. Do not use cotton swabs (Q-tips) deep inside the ear canal, as they push softened wax deeper against the eardrum.
