Ciclopirox Olamine (1% cream or 8% nail lacquer) is a synthetic hydroxypyridone broad-spectrum antifungal with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Unlike azoles, it does not inhibit sterol synthesis; it acts by chelating trivalent cations (Fe3+, Al3+), inhibiting metal-dependent enzymes (cytochromes, catalase, peroxidase) in mitochondrial electron transport and cellular permeability. Indicated for onychomycosis of fingernails and toenails (lacquer), tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, and cutaneous candidiasis.

Usage Guidelines
Gently massage into the affected skin twice daily (morning and evening) for 2 to 4 weeks. Wash hands after use.
General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.
Possible Side Effects
Common: Periungual erythema, localized burning, irritation, dry skin. Rare/Severe: Allergic contact dermatitis, nail shape alterations.

Terbinafine Hydrochloride is an oral synthetic allylamine broad-spectrum fungicidal agent on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. It non-competitively inhibits squalene epoxidase, an essential early enzyme in fungal ergosterol biosynthesis. This induces intracellular accumulation of toxic squalene and depletion of ergosterol, causing fungal cell membrane lysis. Highly lipophilic and keratophilic, accumulating in stratum corneum, hair follicles, and nails.
