Clinical Overview

Demulcent Ocular Lubricant and Artificial Tear formulation on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. Forms a viscoelastic, transparent, bioadhesive lubricating polymer shield over the cornea and conjunctiva, stabilizing the pre-corneal tear film, mimicking mucin layer adherence, and protecting the ocular surface against desiccating environmental stress and shear forces during blinking. Indicated for temporary relief of burning, irritation, and discomfort due to dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca), digital eye strain, wind, or sun exposure.

Usage Guidelines

Instill one to two drops into the affected eye(s) as needed throughout the day. May be used multiple times daily. Blink several times to spread the lubricant evenly across the ocular surface.

General Administration Advice: Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage, frequency, and treatment course. For oral medications, swallow with sufficient water. Never stop antibiotics, psychiatric medications, or antihypertensives abruptly without clinical direction.

Possible Side Effects

Common: Transient mild visual blurring immediately after instillation (clears within seconds), sticky eyelid sensation. Rare/Severe: Ocular hyperemia or hypersensitivity to preservatives.

*Note: Individual physiological responses vary. While many patients experience few or no side effects, notify your treating physician if adverse reactions persist or if hypersensitivity (angioedema, skin rash, dyspnea) occurs.

Precautions & Warnings

Over-The-Counter ocular lubricant. If eye pain, persistent vision changes, continued redness, or irritation occurs or worsens for more than 72 hours, discontinue and consult an eye doctor. Do not touch dropper tip to any surface. Discard bottle 1 month after opening.
