Amisulpride Tablets 50mg
Amisulpride is a substituted benzamide atypical antipsychotic. It acts with high selectivity as an antagonist at presynaptic and postsynaptic dopamine D2 and D3 receptors in the limbic system, with zero affinity for 5-HT, adrenergic, cholinergic, or histaminergic receptors. At low doses (50-300 mg), it preferentially blocks presynaptic autoreceptors, facilitating dopamine release and improving negative and cognitive symptoms; at higher doses (400-800 mg), it blocks postsynaptic D2 receptors to control positive psychotic symptoms. Indicated for schizophrenia with acute psychotic episodes and predominant negative symptoms.
